I use stitch, stain, and stippling as signifiers of memory. By doing so, I create new sequences, which reveal an inseparable relationship between motion and stasis. Through the labor of stitching, I can investigate miniature environments whilst discovering larger intuitive compositions. The study of stain in both my fiber work and drawings develop a narrative of lost memory and paramnesia. I wish to contest the division between the realm of memory and the realm of experience; I am attempting to recreate moments in time with thread and repetitive mark-making. Each stitch serves to mend as I enlist a sense of dream, and of growth. As a result of looking closely upon the natural world around me, I construct microcosms of the mundane and rework moments both real and imagined.
